Korea Study Tour

Singapore International School (SIS) students embarked on an unforgettable study tour to Korea from 6 to 13 July 2024.

The exciting journey began in Gwangwon Province, at the beautiful Nami Islandwhere students experienced the thrill of walking on the SkyWalk glass bridge, one of the newest attractions in Korea. With eagerness to try Korean cuisine, students enjoyed several traditional dishes that were absolutely delicious going by the many empty plates!

In the following days, our students took part in a variety of immersive as well as traditional activities at Songgok University. From horseback riding, golf lessons, and beverage making to hands-on classes in making traditional Korean rice cakes and fan art decorating, students fully engaged in the fun-filled local lifestyle and culture.

Seoul offered each student vibrant and colourful educational experiences by exploring the world of automobiles at Hyundai Motorstudio, marveled the Instagram photo-worthy and trendy expanse of Starfield Library and experienced the thrilling energy of all things K-Pop at SM Town.

One of the highlights of the Study Tour was visiting Everland, the largest amusement park in South Korea. Students got to experience the many thrilling rides, enjoyed colourful performances, explored Everland Zoo and many other exciting activities all while making unforgettable memories with their classmates.

Soaking in the rich heritage of Korea, students visited the majestic Gyeongbokgung Royal Palace and the National Folk Museum. These visits brought insight and a richer understanding of Korean history, culture and heritage. The icing on the cake of the day?  A visit to the the iconic Blue House, the official residence of the President of South Korea and if that was not thrilling enough, students had an interactive K-Pop experience at the HiKR Center and completed the day enjoying panoramic views of Seoul at Namsan Tower.

An incredible Study Tour that gave our students a peek into their own self-discovery, understanding better what teamwork is all about, gaining insight into different cultures and heritage, deepening friendships and opening their eyes wide to a world of possibilities that solid education brings!

So much fun & lifelong memories in fact, 80% of students are excitedly clamoring to sign up for the next Study Tour! So stay tuned for our next program!
